Lived experience will always outweigh any site research we do, and this belief became even stronger during my time as an equity designer. I had the privilege of working with Beyond the Box CIC, Hawkins\Brown, and Mott McDonald to redesign part of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. Specifically, I helped reimagine the track area, focusing on inclusivity. Co-hosting the final presentation at City Hall was a memorable experience, especially as we incorporated feedback from South London girls we consulted, ensuring their voices shaped the design.
